A few words About INNOECOFOOD
THE INNOECOFOOD PROJECT is an ambitious, multi-actor initiative funded under the EU Horizon programme that seeks to transform aquaculture and sustainable food production systems across six African countries. By combining artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and circular bioeconomy principles, the project aims to create innovative production and processing ECOHUBs that will enhance nutrition, income, and trade across EU-AU markets.
These Training Modules have been developed to guide the Training of Trainers (ToTs) within the INNOECOHUB framework and serves as a foundational resource to build capacity in fish, spirulina, and insect value chains—three key sustainable aquaculture systems with high nutritional, economic, and ecological value.
The modules are designed to support community-level trainers in equipping rural
farmers, youth, and women with the practical skills and technical knowledge necessary for establishing sustainable, innovative, and market-oriented micro-enterprises using climate-smart technologies and renewable energy sources. These activities are intended to foster inclusive participation, food security, and resilience to climate and economic shocks.
